Could your flock design a little Shaun?
After a challenging few years, we think it’s time to have some fun! And who better to embark on a baa-rilliant art adventure with than the leader of the flock, Shaun the Sheep!
We are looking for schools, nurseries, youth groups and community groups across Brighton and Hove and the Havens to take part in Shaun by the Sea.
Who can design a little Shaun?
To take part in our learning programme, ideally you would be:
- Based in Brighton and Hove and the Havens
- A school, nursery, youth group, community group or care home
- Able to fundraise (see more below) for Martlets Hospice
If you are not based in Brighton and Hove and the Havens but would like to take part, please get in touch with us.

How do I take part?
To sign up to decorate your own little Shaun, we ask that you pay an adoption fee of £100 + VAT. This covers the costs of delivery, collection and return of your little Shaun.
You can pay your adoption fee today at https://www.shaunbythesea.co.uk/learning/.
The first 30 schools, nurseries or youth group to sign up will receive a fun ‘reveal’ visit to introduce Shaun to your flock.
If you feel you will struggle to pay for the adoption fee, please get in touch with us to discuss.
How do I fundraise?
We know that fundraising at this moment in time is difficult for our schools and community. That’s why we are taking a lead from Shaun.
Shaun and his friends are a group of unique characters who flock together for fun and adventure. So rather than asking each school or group to raise towards an individual target, we are asking those taking part in our learners programme fundraise towards a collective goal of £50,000, or ‘Flock-fund’.
This means you could work collaboratively with other schools or community groups to reach a shared goal. You could even partner with a local business that will match your fundraising efforts.
What else do I get for taking part?
We will also provide you with lots of learning resources to help your flock learn alongside their art adventure. We will also promote your school or group alongside the trail, both online and with plaques.
You can find out even more details about Shaun by the Sea by reading our learners pack.
You can also join us at an upcoming zoom call.
There are a limited number of sculptures available. Join our flock soon, as we’d hate for you to feel sheepish if you missed out.
