About South Downs Shaun

Inspired by the rolling South Downs, mesmerising Sussex sunsets, and the ever-changing skyline. Bold brushstrokes mix with subtle washes of colour across Shaun’s body, while his legs are adorned with vibrant local wildflowers and grasses. Artist Kitty McCurdy has created a semi-abstract landscape, capturing the emotion and spirit of our South Downs, a haven where Shaun and his flock can thrive.

Kitty is known for her large-scale contemporary landscape paintings. Guided by her environment, Kitty layers and removes paint creating a history within each piece. She seeks to capture the essence, movement, and emotion of a place, rather than focusing on geographical accuracy.
